DK thin glazed glass laminated with SPD technology was utilized by BMW to create a new headlight design for its BMWi Vision Circular Showcar. SPD based headlights with thin glazing support new design possibilities, as headlight glass can turn on and off for futuristic exteriors.
SPD based headlights glazed with DK ultra thin automotive glass was featured at IAA 2021 in the BMWi Vision Circular Showcar. SPD thin glazed glass allows headlight glass to switch from dark to transparent revealing headlights. This is the first demonstration of SPD technology being used in a front light.
